Visualoop.com relaunches as the global showcase for the most creative, informative and visually stunning infographics around the world. This is an exciting time for the team at Infogram, and a big step towards achieving our data-literacy mission. With Infogram, anyone can create beautiful, interactive and responsive data visualization really quickly, leaving time for designers to create more advanced visualizations like the ones you’ll find in Visualoop.com.

The new Visualoop.com is now an online gallery spotlighting over 120 award-winning data designers from news organizations like the Washington Post, The New York Times, Boston Globe, National Geographic, as well as nearly 1500 visually stunning infographics. The new Visualoop allows users to engage with designers using social media features, and learn more about designers and their work through a news section and blog. The Visualoop relaunch makes it the go-to resource for high-quality infographics, visual learners and anyone looking to do fast research on a variety of topics.

“We are making Visualoop the first place you think of when you want to discover ground-breaking data visualizations,” said Tiago Veloso, founder of Visualoop. “The designers and data journalists we feature are pioneering the way we think about data, design and communication.”

alberto_cairo“In the past few years, whenever I had to suggest a source for inspiration to my visualization and infographics students, the first reference that came to my mind was Visualoop. Invariably. It’s simply the best website out there when it comes to collecting and curating information graphics from all over the world. And, now it’s going to include the possibility of creating personal portfolios that will also be curated! What else could we ask for?” said Alberto Cairo, Knight Chair in Visual Journalism, Miami University.

Among the featured, award-winning designers in the Visualoop community is John Grimwade, professor of Visual Communications at Ohio University, formerly of news organizations like Conde Nast Traveler and the London Times.

“[Visualoop.com is] an essential resource for anyone interested in infographics,” says Grimwade, who’s award-winning work for illustrating the complicated Transatlantic Superhighway that continues to mesmerize readers 10 years later.

“Visualoop is the most complete graphics showcase so far,” said Chiqui Esteban, Director, Deputy, Art Graphics and Maps at National Geographic. “First, because it’s demanding, so you know what you’re going to see is really worth the time. Second, because it is very complete and allows you to search in different ways. And third, because it has an internal edition to alert you of what you shouldn’t miss. It’s also quite a good way to upload interactives.”

After being acquired by Infogram in 2014, the Visualoop.com team relaunched the site to feature a growing community for the very best infographics and data visualization artists around the world. While anyone can view, comment, favorite, and share the infographics on a variety of social media platforms and email, the new Visualoop community is by invitation only to assure the quality of uploaded infographics. Each designer is given invitations to share with their peers and grow the showcase. Designers and agencies who would like to be featured can request a membership via apply@visualoop.com

“For the last five years we’ve been evolving as a platform to promote high-quality infographic design and the people behind them,” continues Veloso. With this major upgrade, we are taking another huge step towards becoming a reliable source of inspiration for designers, journalists and educators that are looking for visualized data stories from all over the world.”
